Lately, a build concept built around the “Bonestorm” skill has been making the rounds in the community, and it really feels like it was designed to tear through late–game content. If you want to get a head start on your economy early on, having some PoE 2 Currency ready is always a smart move – it’ll help you bring your build to life much faster.

So, what exactly is Bonestorm? In short, it’s a physical spell that creates a swirling storm of bones centred on your character. Once activated, it spins around you, dealing continuous physical damage to anything in range – and the best part is, it follows you wherever you go. That means you can keep moving, dodging enemy skills, while still dishing out heavy damage. This “fight on the move” style is perfect for PoE 2’s fast–paced combat.

To get the most out of this build, you’ll want to focus on a few key areas:

1. Damage conversion and scaling: Pure physical damage has its limits, so many players opt to convert part or all of it into elemental damage – cold or fire, for example – to take advantage of more aura bonuses and support gem multipliers.

2. Area of Effect (AoE): Bonestorm’s base radius is decent, but for faster map clearing you’ll want to push it further. Passive tree nodes and gear mods that boost AoE are worth keeping an eye out for.

The real strength of Bonestorm shows in boss fights. It’s incredibly adaptable to different encounters. Against bosses that summon waves of adds – like the siege scenario shown in some demos – Bonestorm is a clearing machine. Just charge into the mob with the skill active, and the trash melts away, letting you focus entirely on the boss. You’ll quickly realise that dealing with adds is no longer a headache.

For highly mobile bosses that dart around the arena, traditional stationary–casting builds can struggle, spending most of the fight chasing them down. Bonestorm sidesteps that problem entirely. Since the storm moves with you, as long as you can keep close to the boss, you’re landing full damage constantly. That relentless pressure can shred their health bar fast.

When facing tanky, stand–still bosses, you might need to tweak your approach. Adding a Wither totem to ramp up chaos damage taken, or using curses to strip away defences, can make a big difference. The core tactic stays the same: stick close, keep moving, and let Bonestorm grind them down over time.

This build’s strengths are clear: excellent map–clearing speed, great mobility in combat, and near–continuous damage in boss fights. It turns farming into something enjoyable rather than a slog. But it’s not without its downsides. Gear requirements can be significant – especially weapons with high physical base damage and mods that boost skill radius. Early on, damage might feel underwhelming. It also leans heavily on life and mana leech for sustain, so maps with “no leech” mods can be rough. Having the right flasks or backup plans ready is important.

All in all, Bonestorm has the potential to become one of the most popular builds in PoE 2, whether you’re starting fresh or pushing deep into endgame. It’s not a brainless face–tank playstyle – you’ll need good movement and an understanding of boss mechanics, along with time and effort to optimise your gear. But once it’s fully set up, the feeling of tearing through everything in your path is unmatched.
