"We wanted something different. The idea of a conventional wedding venue didn’t attract us, and we loved the thought of being around the Thames on New Year's Eve and catching a glimpse of the fireworks. It was probably based on the idea of our perfect day. Relaxed, with pie and mash, plenty of beers and wine, and everybody laughing and enjoying themselves."

The bridesmaids looked so chic in long sage bridesmaid dresses, along with their selection of shoes, and everyone wore an ostrich feather cape – an important New Year’s Eve party accessory!

'We met inside a local pub in Amersham in August 2013. I had just moved right down to Amersham from Glasgow, and also the plan ended up being to stay with family for 6 months after which move to London. I then met Sam. Seven years later we're married, which is very much home."

The couple climbed the steps up of Trinity Buoy Wharf's lighthouse for a breathtaking view out within the River Thames. "The shock on everyone's faces whenever we led these phones on the surprise boat trip – this for all of us made your day so special!"

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"We were worried that because our wedding is nontraditional it wouldn't seem like a wedding, however, in fact, there is much happiness around the day. All in our family and friends enjoyed every moment, and achieving them there around to share within our happiness made the different, nontraditional day feel really special indeed."
