We have a history, culture, and nature-loving couple keen to talk about their day with family members in a setting that encapsulated all those things – plus they most certainly thought it was! Meet Mila and Christy, who both operate in museums, and who first met at university whilst both studying to have an MSc in Museum Studies.

The couple was married on 4 August 2018 in the lovely near the River Tay in Perthshire, Scotland. It would be a joyful and relaxed day, partially inspired by the magic and whimsy of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, using the beautiful woodland ceremony setting to weave a fairytale spell.

Mila appeared as if a fairy queen in her romantic wedding dresses with sleeves, chosen in the London boutique. There's an attractive mixture of floral-inspired and geometric embellishment around the sparkly bodice and flattering cap sleeves; this type of pretty contrast uses the lightness and simplicity of the tulle skirt.

"I wanted an outfit that felt comfortable, which allowed me to maneuver, as well as something that would be a bit unique, which had a flowing skirt. I was taking a look at completely different dresses in most of the shops, and tried that one to try on another style since I wasn't finding something that felt right."

"Most of all, I wanted something I could walk and dance in. I somewhat wish I had gotten rid of the train though but it would be a relatively short train, also it looked lovely within the photos."

Supporting Mila and Christy within the planning of the day was Wendy McArthur, Post-ceremony drinks were served in customized blue and yellow flutes, having a special logo by the stationery designer.

"Our engagement wasn't a large surprise, but Christy did arrange a pleasant day out with tickets to determine a play, and that we went to among my favorite places in London for lunch. We got engaged at the beginning of December 2016 – so it had been quite a long engagement! The long engagement was because we desired to get married during summer, and summer 2017 was too close for my relatives to organize their travels."

Mila and Christy opted for any Humanist ceremony, conducted by celebrants, with unique, heartfelt vows written through the couple.

"I think the good thing of your day was the ceremony because this was exactly what the whole day involved. The day was dry and delightful and I just felt calm, also it was easy. I thought I was likely to be nervous, but I wasn't whatsoever – it simply felt right and calming at the end of the morning chaos."

We've featured the splendid work of the photographer, and such a phenomenal job she did of capturing the natural beauty and storybook atmosphere of Mila and Christy's day.

"We wanted pictures that looked natural, once we're both a little awkward in front of the camera, and that we didn't want the photos to feel too forced. Anna's photos were simply perfect. They captured your day and the feel from it, and all sorts of the smiles and emotions from your guests."

"We also wanted lots of pictures of our family and friends, and that we have some gorgeous candid portraits of these and plenty of pictures of individuals dancing and achieving a great time. We were built with a lot of individuals commenting how amazing our photos are, and I can't recommend Anna enough."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"I would advise one to have your day before the marriage and your day after the marriage completely free. We were built with dinner around the Friday before the marriage that ended up being very stressful, coupled with leaving the hotel your day after the marriage at 7 am."
