A Romantic + Elegant Italian Vineyard

About

MeetKatie, who's Head of Investor Relations and Marketing in a New York hedge fund, and Rachel, an Account Director for any graphic design firm. They celebrated their marriage on 20 October 2018 in the magnificent Grassini, Tuscany, Italy.

Katie wore a beautifully crafted and tailored tuxedo, inside a deep midnight blue with contrasting black silk lapels, paired having a crisp white shirt with monogrammed cuffs, along with a black bow tie.

"The midnight blue is classic, yet modern and bold. Bindle & Keep are excellent suits and tuxedos, plus they help you find the design and style that feels perfectly tailored for you, so you feel comfortable and confident on your special day."

Rachel discovered her ethereally beautiful long sleeve wedding dresses at FeelTimes, using its high neck and row of delicate buttons running on the back, and magical layers of lace and tulle falling to some long train.

"The romantic style and fine, elegant detail felt just like a perfect fit for Tuscany. Given it is at October, strapless was too off-season, which style gave us a method to keep the dress light and stylish, but without baring an excessive amount of skin."

"After getting engaged in California wine country, we knew we wanted to possess our wedding in a vineyard or wine estate. Our friend Kellin lives in Florence, and she or he had just visited Lilliano to have an event and recommended we contemplate it for our wedding."

"We met in a cycling class in New York in 2015. We quickly became friends, after which started dating a couple of months later. In October 2017, Katie was residing in San Francisco for three months for work, and Rachel visited for a long weekend. We drove as much as the Russian River Valley and stayed in the Farmhouse Inn. During a wine tasting and walk through the vineyards at Kistler Vineyards, Katie proposed. We got married almost exactly twelve months later."

Loved ones delivered wonderfully personal readings – the poem, by Oriah, then a piece called Reflections on Marriage, compiled by Katie's aunt.

"In it, she quoted excerpts from Justice Robert's Supreme Court Decision on gay marriage, as well as from a letter that Katie's grandparents wrote to Katie and Rachel, by which they shared loving words of wisdom according to their 60+ many years of marriage."

As they walked to support the aisle together, Rachel and Katie were showered with confetti and serenaded with live music performed by the family.

"It's tough to name one favorite part since the whole day was just like a dream become a reality, however, it was probably whenever we walked out from the villa doors and saw our guests prepared to welcome us around the lawn, using the backdrop from the most beautiful sunset we're able to have requested. It was just like a scene from a movie or perhaps a painting. A wonderful beginning to the celebration of your evening.”

Everyone enjoyed an Aperol spritz or two because the sun transpired, and also the villa's gardens lit up with glowing festoon lights.

Speeches and toasts rounded from the meal, as music from the strolling band (with increased music and lighting) began the evening festivities, along with the first dance for Katie and Rachel, towards the wonderful song Under a Blanket of Blue, by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Try to possess a feeling of your style like a couple, and what you would like the feeling from the event to become before you start planning every detail and picking your vendors."

"You would like it to reflect you like a couple, and never feel like someone else's wedding. Spend the most around the things that are most important for you. For us which was music, photography, and food and wine."
